ELLA CALDWELL

Ella is a theatre director, artistic director and actor living in Melbourne. Ella grew up on the far south coast of N.S.W before receiving a drama scholarship and moving to Melbourne to complete her final two years of high school. Ella studied Creative Arts at The University of Melbourne before auditioning as a founding member of Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre. In 2013 Ella was nominated as artistic director of Red Stitch. In the role, Ella has launched the company’s INK writing program and established PLAYlist, a specific festival of new writing and music. Other highlights include the company’s first international tour to Wuzhen Theatre Festival, building a national touring partnership with Critical Stages, establishing the company’s Kindred patron program and partnering with Midsummer Festival, Melbourne international Comedy Festival, Darwin Festival and Brisbane Festival.

Ella’s recent directorial work includes the critically acclaimed Australian premiere seasons of Oil written by Ella Hickson and The Antipodes written by Annie Baker. As an actor, Ella most recently featured in Morgan Rose’s desert, 6:29pm.


ALLISON WALKER

Allison Walker is a Yuin / Monero woman who grew up in Wallaga Lake Koori Village on the NSW south coast, Djiringanj country. Her artistic practise includes painting, craft, jewellery, shell work and dance, and always has cultural significance.

Allison takes strength in her culture, passed down by Elders through many generations.

Allison has attended festivals and events across Australia as a member of the Djaadjawan Dancers, a female traditional Aboriginal dance group from Narooma, and she founded her own female dance group at Wallaga Lake in 2016 called the Djiringanj Dancers, who performed at local events.

Allison has worked as a tour guide for Umbarra Cultural Centre and also held a position on the Board of Merrimans Local Aboriginal Land Council for some years.

Alison Walker is a custodial traditional owner of Gulaga and Biamanga Mountains.
